Who is eligible to attend the camp?
The camp is open to current Taylor 5th grade students.
Where and when is the camp taking place?
The camp will take place from June 22-27, 2025, at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.
What is provided during the camp?
We provide transportation, food, and lodging in dormitories for all campers. In addition, students will participate in hands-on experiments, engineering design challenges, and art/creativity projects, as well as fun activities around NWA, including a visit to the Amazeum.
What safety measures are in place?
We prioritize safety and will have trained staff on-site 24/7, including camp counselors and facilitators. Dormitories are secure, and camp activities are closely supervised.

- How are the dormitories secured?
The dormitories where campers will stay are monitored 24/7 by campus security. Only camp participants and authorized staff will have access to the dorms, and students are supervised by counselors at all times.
- Are there background checks for staff?
Yes, all camp staff, including counselors and volunteers, undergo comprehensive background checks to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.
- What medical services are available?
A trained medical professional will be on-site at all times. If a child has a medical issue or an emergency arises, parents will be contacted immediately. We also have a local hospital nearby in case of emergencies.
How is transportation arranged?
Transportation to and from the camp will be provided by bus, with detailed pick-up and drop-off information provided closer to the camp dates.
Who are the camp counselors?
Our camp counselors are students from the University of Arkansas who are passionate about STEAM education. They have been carefully selected and trained to work with campers, ensuring a safe, supportive, and engaging experience throughout the week. These counselors serve as mentors, guiding students through hands-on activities and projects.
What should my child bring?
Campers will receive a packing list before camp, which will include comfortable clothes, toiletries, and any personal items. All necessary materials for camp activities will be provided.
What is the camper-to-staff ratio?
We maintain a low camper-to-staff ratio of 4:1 to ensure close supervision. Each group of campers will have dedicated counselors who are trained to handle emergencies and guide students through activities.
What happens in case of an emergency?
In the event of an emergency, we have established protocols to ensure the safety of all campers. Parents will be promptly notified, and we have contact information for all guardians on file. Our staff are trained in emergency response procedures.
How will you handle allergies or special medical needs?
We accommodate all medical needs, including allergies. Parents are encouraged to provide detailed information on their child’s medical requirements once the camper is accepted to camp. Our medical staff will ensure those needs are met throughout the camp.
How will you handle homesickness or behavioral issues?
Our staff is trained to support campers who may feel homesick and help them adjust to the camp environment. For any behavioral issues, we will work with the camper to resolve the issue, and parents will be contacted if necessary.
What is the Device Policy?
Campers are allowed to bring phones or other personal devices; however, they should only be used during designated times, such as:
Morning free time before breakfast
Evening free time after dinner
During all camp activities, meals, and group sessions, phones must be turned off or kept on silent and put away. This ensures campers stay focused and engaged.

At bedtime, all phones and personal devices will be turned off and securely stored by camp staff. This ensures that campers get a good night’s rest without distractions. Devices will be returned the next morning during designated free time.
- Emergencies
In case of emergencies, parents can always reach us through the camp’s contact number, and campers will be allowed to call home when needed.
Can parents attend camp?
The camp is designed to provide an independent experience for campers, so parents are not allowed to stay during the camp. However, parents are welcome to attend the opening ceremony in White Hall to see their child off, and to attend the celebration at the conclusion of camp at our Innovation Expo which will be held when we return to White Hall.
How will parents be informed during camp?
We understand the importance of keeping parents informed, so we will provide regular updates and photos throughout the week to ensure you stay connected with your child’s experience.
What is the Innovation Expo?
We are excited to invite parents, families, and the community to our Innovation Expo, where campers will showcase the amazing projects they created during camp!
